Social Event Venue
The social event (with a walk-around dinner) will be hosted at the Mill City Museum at 6-9pm on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. There is about a 20-25 min. walk (or about 5 min. drive) from the conference hotel to the Museum site. People are welcome to walk over on their own, but we will also have groups leaving from the ground floor lobby (with a student volunteer) roughly every 5 minutes from 5:35pm until 6:15pm (and will have groups coming back as needed starting around 8pm)
Mill City Museum is a distinctive cultural and event venue located within the historic ruins of the Washburn “A” Mill along the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. Once the world’s largest flour mill, the site has been thoughtfully transformed into a striking museum that blends preserved industrial architecture with modern design.
One of its most iconic features is the dramatic mix of exposed stone walls and contemporary glass structures, offering panoramic views of the riverfront and St. Anthony Falls. The museum’s multi-level spaces, including the renowned Flour Tower exhibit, provide a unique setting that reflects the city’s rich industrial heritage.
