12th ACM Conference on Recommender Systems

Vancouver, Canada, 2nd-7th October 2018

The ACM Recommender Systems conference (RecSys) is the premier international forum for the presentation of new research results, systems and techniques in the broad field of recommender systems. Recommendation is a particular form of information filtering, that exploits past behaviors and user similarities to generate a list of information items that is personally tailored to an end-user’s preferences. As RecSys brings together the main international research groups working on recommender systems, along with many of the world’s leading e-commerce companies, it has become the most important annual conference for the presentation and discussion of recommender systems research. RecSys 2018, the twelfth conference in this series, was held in Vancouver, Canada. Participants—more than 800—came from academia and industry presenting their latest results and identify new trends and challenges in providing recommendation components in a range of innovative application contexts. In addition to the main technical track, RecSys 2018 program featured keynotes and invited talks, tutorials covering state-of-the-art in this domain, a workshop program, an industrial track and a doctoral symposium.

Published papers went through a rigorous full peer review process, having an acceptance rate of 18% for long and 25% for short papers. The conference proceedings available via the ACM Digital Library are expected to be widely read and cited.

Video recordings from this year’s conference are available on the official ACM RecSys YouTube Channel.

Statement on Inclusion and Safety

As the organizers of RecSys 2018, we are committed to providing an inclusive, safe, and respectful conference environment for all attendees.

As an ACM conference, RecSys and its organizers, speakers, and attendees are bound by the ACM Policy Against Discrimination and Harassment, and we the organizers fully endorse this policy. The policy’s scope includes the conference venue and related social media.

RecSys has made efforts over the last several years to be an inclusive community, and we have sought throughout our planning of RecSys 2018 to continue and expand those efforts. We have appointed Humberto Corona as the Inclusion and Accessibility Chair for RecSys 2018, and invite you to contact him with any concerns or feedback. The General Chairs (Sole Pera and Michael Ekstrand) also welcome your input.

Should you experience or witness a violation of the anti-harassment policy, or have any other concerns regarding your ability to fully and safely participate in the conference, please contact Humberto or Sole & Michael or ask for them at the registration desk.

We hope you have an amazing RecSys.
