Inclusion
As the organizers of RecSys 2022, we are committed to providing an inclusive, safe, and respectful conference environment for all attendees. Given the impact of our community’s work on society, we appreciate now more than ever the importance of providing an inclusive and accessible conference that brings together a diverse recommender systems community.
We are continuing several inclusion initiatives that turned out successful in past RecSys conferences
- As last year, RecSys will provide deeply discounted rates for attendees registering in countries designated by ACM as “economically developing” (categorization based on World Bank GNI), acknowledging the impact of exchange rates and international inequities. These will be available directly in the RecSys 2022 registration page.
- Registration waiver grants are designed for community members of all backgrounds and disciplines who are unable to fund their attendance to the conference. Applicants do not need to have a paper accepted to obtain the grant. Applications are reviewed on a weekly basis until September 19, 2022.
- Internet access grants are designed to cover extra costs of internet access if attendees’ current internet bandwidth is a barrier to their participation in the conference. Applicants do not need to have a paper accepted to obtain the grant. Applications are reviewed on a weekly basis until August 19, 2022.
- Care grants are designed to cover extra costs for caring for dependents if attendees’ caretaker responsibilities are a barrier to their participation in the conference. Applicants do not need to have a paper accepted to obtain the grant. Applications are reviewed on a weekly basis until August 19, 2022.
