Social 4: Sharing is Caring

A low-threshold social for people of all backgrounds to give a lightning talk and share a recsys problem that they’re working on. Attendees are requested to get in touch with each other after the social to give any advice that they might have that could help solve the problem, whether it be literature, online presentations, or their own experiences. Each lightning talk is a maximum of 2 minutes, which gives us space for up to 25 presenters. Organised by RecsysNL, who have found that a significant function of our meetups is for people to socialise and talk shop, sharing freely insights into their models and practices to fellow recsys geeks. The lightning talks are positioned as a way to find other like-minded people with relevant experiences to talk shop with, and forge ongoing discussions and relationships.
