13th ACM Conference on Recommender Systems

Copenhagen, Denmark, 16th-20th September 2019

The ACM Recommender Systems conference (RecSys) is the premier international forum for the presentation of new research results, systems and techniques in the broad field of recommender systems. Recommendation is a particular form of information filtering, that exploits past behaviors and user similarities to generate a list of information items that is personally tailored to an end-user’s preferences. As RecSys brings together the main international research groups working on recommender systems, along with many of the world’s leading e-commerce companies, it has become the most important annual conference for the presentation and discussion of recommender systems research. RecSys 2019, the thirteenth conference in this series, was held in Copenhagen, Denmark. Participants—more than 900—came from academia and industry presenting their latest results and identify new trends and challenges in providing recommendation components in a range of innovative application contexts. In addition to the main technical track, RecSys 2019 program featured keynote and invited talks, tutorials covering state-of-the-art in this domain, a workshop program, an industrial track and a doctoral symposium.

Published papers went through a rigorous full peer review process. The conference proceedings available via the ACM Digital Library are expected to be widely read and cited.

RecSys has made efforts over the last several years to be an inclusive community, and we have sought throughout our planning of RecSys 2019 to continue and expand those efforts. We have appointed Caroline Chavier and Humberto Corona as the Inclusion and Accessibility Chairs for RecSys 2019, and invite you to contact them with any concerns or feedback. The General Chairs (Toine Bogers and Alan Said) also welcome your input.

Accessible and inclusive presentations: RecSys is a conference where diversity, accessibility and inclusion is valued and cared about. The conference attendees take part to a variety of scientific discussions. In order to help you effectively engage with this diverse and vibrant community, we are encouraging all the presenters to conceive accessible and inclusive presentations. While introducing a keynote, paper or workshop, we encourage you to check this page we have prepared sharing suggested ways of expressing the way you will address the audience in an inclusive way. This page also sums up a few pieces of advice to ensure visually accessible slides.
