RecSys 2007 Location and Accommodations

Minneapolis, Minnesota brings together the arts and culture of a big city with the lakes, parks, and trails you'd expect in the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" and the charm of a University town.  Located on the Mississippi River, and home to such internationally-known businesses as Carlson Companies, Target Corporation, and General Mills, Minneapolis is also justly proud of being the third largest live theater market in the U.S.  Easy to reach via Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport (with daily nonstop flights from Amsterdam, London, Tokyo, and many major North American cities), we'll be glad to have you here, whether your idea of an ideal conference venue is an early-morning jog along the river, a Jazz club in the evening to reflect on the day's lessons, or a bit of "retail therapy" at the Mall of America.

RecSys 2007 will be held in the Digital Technology Center, located in Walter Library on the University of Minnesota's Twin Cities campus.  This urban campus is just minutes from downtown Minneapolis, yet maintains a park-like campus feel with trees and open areas along the campus mall, and with extensive views of the Mississippi River.  The facility itself is an active research facility with extensive support for technical meetings, including free wireless networking for participants and high-quality A/V support.

A block of hotel rooms has been reserved at the the Holiday Inn Minneapolis Metrodome hotel, at a discount rate of $105 per night.  This newly renovated hotel is a pleasant 10 minute walk from the conference site (through the campus) and provide a complimentary shuttle within the campus and downtown areas.  Reservations may be made either on the hotel's website, or by calling (800) 448-3663 or +1 612 333-4646.  In either case, please use code AM4 or specify that you are with the Association for Computing Machinery to receive the discount rate.  (Note:  Our hotel block is nearly full for Saturday night. Please call the hotel directly if the web site indicates that there is no availability. The hotel can make reservations for you for W/Th/F at the discount rate, but may charge you $125 for Saturday night (and only Saturday night). Be sure to mention ACM RecSys 2007 to get the $105 rate for the other nights.)
